Edward was born on August 13, 1918, in Beltana South Australia, Before the war he was working as an Engine Clearer with the South Australian Railways.  At enlistment Edward was single.

 Edward was enlisted on 8 January in 1916, and he was 19 was he joined. His mother Mrs Annie McNamara was his nominated next of kin. He served in with the 27th Infantry Battalion in France and Belgium.

 Edward sadly didn’t make it back, he was killed in action in France on 19 May 1918. His final resting place is Ribemont Communal Cemetery extension, Ribemont Picardie France.
