The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 271 & 282. Prior to the war he was a clerk of Middle Park Vic. He enlisted 18th Aug 1914 aged 20 yrs. He served with the 5th Infantry Battalion, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Unfortunately, he died of wounds 8th Sep 1918. Letters and Papers of George from this wartime have been donated to the Australian War Memorial, refer to 1DRL/0473. Rest In Peace Lest We Forget
