Biography

Son of John Henry Ferguson Brisbin and Ellen J. (Wright)

Biography contributed by Roland Brisbin

James served overseas with the 47th Australian Infantry Battalion and was de-mobbed from the 22 AIF.

He served in Papua New Guines 21 Jan 1943 to 29 May 1944. And then Bougainville 3 Feb 1944 to 29 April 1946.

James was a labour and worked on Cattle Properties around Longreach and later in life in town.

James (Eddie) and John (Jack) spent their final years together in a small cottage at Longreach Queensland.

Longreach Leader newspaper Friday, 23 February 1951 had an article about: JEFBrisbin, parents living in Kingfisher Street, Longreach and a marrrage by James to a Bettina Katherine Noy. Her parents: Mother D.M. Noy and her father a W. L. Noy (Deceased). From discussions with locals in 2014 it seems the marriage only lasted a very short period and he returned to reside with his brother John.

James & John are both at rest in the longreach Cemetary.
