Died on this date – 26th January…… Percival Kelly was born on 11th October, 1885 at Campania, Tasmania.

Percival James Kelly married Jessie Isabel Emery in 1910 in Swan, Western Australia. They had the following children: Marjorie Elizabeth Kelly (born 1911); Nellie Marguerite Kell (born 1913) & Harold C. Kelly (born 1917).

He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 30th April, 1918 as a 30 year old, married, Railway Shunter, from Collie, Western Australia.

On 5th October, 1918 Private Percival James Kelly, Service number 2813, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on SS Zealandic with the Railway Unit, Special Draft, 1918 Reinforcements & disembarked at London, England on 5th December, 1918.

He was posted to A.R.O.D. (Australian Railway Operating Division) Depot at Longmoor, England on 6th December, 1918 as Sapper.

Sapper Kelly was sent sick then admitted to Military Hospital, Frensham Hill, Surrey, England on 18th January, 1919. He was reported to be dangerously & seriously ill on 21st January, 1919.

Sapper Percival James Kelly died at 02.30 on 26th January, 1919 at Military Hospital, Frensham Hill, England from Influenza & Broncho Pneumonia.

He was buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey, England where around 360 other WW1 Australian War Graves are located.
