He was born Thomas Esmond SINGH on 21st March, 1920 in Nambour, Queensland

His parents were Thomas Buttan SINGH & Louisa BUCHBACH who married in Queensland on 23rd April, 1919

His brother Edward James (SN  QX51994) also served in the Army during WW2 and was discharged on 27th August, 1946
