Private Arnold George Carlson (Service No:Q151360) enlisted in the ACMF on 5 August 1942 and was attached to General Details. Gunner Carlson was attached to Camp Staff Cairns when he was Discharged on 22 February 1944.
Born in 1918 in Brisbane QLD, Arnold was the youngest of five children of Robert Carlson (b1884 in Laidley on the Darling Downs, QLD) and Mabel Dowrick (b1886 at Rosewood on the Darling Downs, QLD). Robert was a Carpenter in Laidley when he and Mabel married in 1908. By 1918 Robert and Mabel had moved to Brisbane where Robert was a Builder.
Arnold was a Cook's Assistant (Knifeman) in August 1942 when he enlisted in the ACMF and married Hazel Myra Ackworth (b1921 in Brisbane, QLD). Arnold was a Meat Worker in Brisbane QLD following his service. Hazel died in 1960 and in 1972 in Brisbane, Arnold remarried - Isabella McCorkindale Rutherford (nee Bryson; b1921 in Brisbane, QLD). Arnold and Isabella settled in Brisbane where Arnold was a Meat Worker. Isabella died in 1988 and Arnold in 1999.
