The death occurred in the Longreach Private Hospital on Tuesday afternoon of Mr. Charles Steedman, aged 57 years, after being an inmate for about two months. He was a native of Tasmania. He was a member of the A.I.F. serving with the 9th Field Ambulance. Upon returning to Western Queensland he followed the occupation of shearer until his health failed since when he had been residing in Longreach.
The funeral on Wednesday afternoon was attended by representatives of the Longreach sub-branch of the R.S.S.I.L.A. Rev. W. McPheat officiated at the graveside.
