children of Brian and brother/sister
Brian was son of Albert Henry CHRISTENSEN who had enlisted Jan 1916, he was wounded twice - repatriated in England each time and returned to Australia December 1918. Albert married Ottibine BERTHELSEN of Pialba, Qld. They Had 4 children - Brian 1919, Ivan , Coralie, Joe.
Brian and Ivan served in PNG in WW2. Coralie enlisted and served in Australia.
Brian progressed to Sgt and from his personal records I have a series of photographs covering Salamaua battle and establishment of Salamaua War Cemetery. I will try to share them with VWMA,
Whilst in PNG Brian contracted Black Water Fever and other, he was returned to Townsville to recuperate and whilst there he married Gabrielle Marie SULLIVAN (my mother).
His brother Ivan - known as 'Moss' had no children but in later life married his long time companion Violet WISE.
Brian's sister Coralie enlisted but only served in Australia. She married Neil BAYNES and they had one daughter Kaye.
Other brother Joe was too young to enlist. He married Patricia McCoy and they had two girls.
