Biography contributed by Claude McKelvey

Francis Paul Easton was born in 1878 (possibly 1873) in Sydney, New South Wales, a son to William and Elizabeth Easton. He served twice in the South African (Boer) War and again in WW1.

He first enlisted as Frank Easton in the Boer War serving as a Private S.N. 346 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen. When he enlsited he is recorded in The Queenslander newspaper with next of kin being his mother Eliza Easton, Wilcock (Wilcox) St, Red Hill. This is the same next of kin and address used on his enlistment papers for his next Boer War service and then WW1 service, both of which he enlisted under his full name of Francis Paul Easton. He also listed his previous service in the 4th QIB and 1st BACH on the respective enlistments.

His second service as Francis Paul Easton was as a Private S.N. 881 in the 1st Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse, Boer War. He then enlisted in WW1 serving as a Lance Corporal S.N. 317 in the 2nd Light Horse Regiment AIF, WW1. He died while serving in WW1.
