    Brother of Samuel Cooper who was killed in action on 26 September 1916 while serving with the 55th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on Menin Gate, Ypres

    Commenced return to Australia on 22 July 1917 aboard HT Nestor disembarking on 25 September 1917
