Private Thomas Fiedler (Service No:411295) enlisted in the Militia on 22 February 1933 and was attached to 9/15 Battalion. Private Fiedler had served in WWI (Service No:65062) with 8th (QLD) Reinforcements in 1918.
Born in 1900 in Brisbane QLD, Tom was the youngest of seven children of Franz (Frank) Fiedler (b1861 in Sztum, Poland) and Sarah North (b1866 in Hampshire, England) - Sarah had arrived in Cooktown, QLD in February 1883 on board the Dorunda and she and Frank (a Farmer) married in November that year. Frank and Sarah settled at Pinkenba where they raised their family and Frank was a Farmer. Following Sarah's death in 1901, Frank remarried.
Tom worked as a Labourer and in 1921 married Grace Victoria Albury (b1900 in Brisbane, QLD). Tom and Grace were Divorced in the early 1930s and Tom described himself as 'Single' in his Attestation Papers in 1933. Tom lived in Brisbane and worked as a Labourer - he died in 1970.
