Brother of Henry (Harry) Matthew Fitzgerald QX43562. Harry married Mary Hanush, the daughter of Frank & Mary Hanush the owners of what was to become the most well known softdrink manufacturer in far north Qld. Harry and Mary took over the buisness when Mary's parents retired. Maurie worked for the business as the master flavour mixer.
He worked as a Mechanic, Plumber, and Flavour Mixer at Hanush's Cordials owned by his brother Harry
