George Henry Fletcher aka “Jack” enlisted under the name of John Fletcher. When asked by his niece Robin why he enlisted as John and not George Henry or Jack, he said he had no idea, they asked his name and he said “John”. Jack, as he was known in the Ingham district, was a recluse later in life. He never married or had children.
