"THE LATE PRIVATE P. E. MARTIN.
Mrs. S. Martin, Gracechurch-street, Portland, Port Adelaide, has been notified that her third son, Private P. E. Martin, was killed in action in France on August 4. Private Martin, who was 23 years of age, left the Outer Harbor on May 31, 1915. He was at Gallipoli before going to France. Prior to enlisting he was employed by the Municipal Tramways Trust at the Power Station, Port Adelaide. He was well liked by all who knew him." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 04 Nov 1916 (nla.gov.au)
