Son of Wrixon GASTEEN and Lorna Francesca GASTEEN nee PEBERDY, "Cloxard", St. George, Qld.

Valedictory: On Saturday evening last a large attendance of members of the Cypress Downs Patriotic Fund entertained L.A.C. Frank Gasteen, who is on short leave from his unit,  and his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. W. Gasteen at a dinner at the Lone Pine woolshed. In the absence of the fund’s president, Mr. E. J. Beardmore presided, and after introducing the  guest of the evening, the chairman spoke very highly of the esteem in which both he and his parents were held by all members, and wished Frank God speed and a safe return. He  was supported by several other speakers. The chairman then presented L.A.C. Gasteen with thr fund’s usual gift to which he suitably responded. The function was brought to a close with the singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem.
