Johanna was the youngest of three children of August Christoph Goos (born 1853 in Hessen Prussia) and his second wife Johanne Auguste Wilhelmine Solomon (born 1863 in Germany). August and Johanne married in Tallegalla, QLD in 1887.
Johanna was a Nurse in Ioswich, QLD when she enlisted in the Australian Army in December 1941 and served as a Lieutenant (Service Nos: QX41047/Q123258). Discharged in January 1944, Johann was working at the Sandy Gallop Mental Hospital in Clontarf, QLD when she married James Roy Dobbie in 1945. James was a Warrant Officer I (Service Nos: QX35405/Q148072).
Johanna and James moved to Townsville in QLD where she continued working as a Nurse. James died in 1968 and Johanna in 1978
