Corporal Leslie Gray (Service Nos:Q107505/QX47887) initially served in the ACMF as a Private (Trade Group Clerk) from 29 March 1941 to 28 January 1943 before enlisting in the AIF on 29 January 1943. Corporal Gray was attached to Supply Personnel Coys, and served in the Solomon Islands (Bougainville and Torokina) from November 1944 to December 1946. Corporal Gray was attached to 58 Field Park Coy at Discharge on 16 January 1946.

Leslie was born in Brisbane, QLD in 1919, third of four children of James Gray (b1888 in Brisbane, QLD) and Alice Pretsel (b1887 in Brisbane, QLD). James (a Carpenter) and Alice married in 1912 in Brisbane, where they settled and raised their family and James worked as a Carpenter. 

Leslie was working in Esk on the Darling Downs, QLD as a Clerk in a Saw Mill when he enlisted in the Army in 1941 - and later that year married Esme Jean Dolby (b1920 in Brisbane, QLD). Following his Discharge in 1946, Leslie and Esme settled in Brisbane, where they raised their family and Leslie worked as a Painter. Esme died in 2002 and Leslie in 2004.
