Robert Lorenzen Grosskreutz (known as Bob) was born in Mackay on 9 July
1895 to parents Friederich Wilhelm and Fredreika Dorathea (nee Lorenzen)
Grosskreutz. Bob married Margaret Ellen Hinschen on 22 January 1923 at St
Pauls Proserpine. They had 2 sons, Stanley & Max and 2 daughters Dulcie &
Jeanette.
Bob enlisted in the 22 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps on Il April 1942,
discharged 21 October 1945.
Bob farmed in the Up River area of Proserpine. Bobs parents are on the
electoral roll for 1903 as farmers at Acacia Vale, Lower Proserpine. 1919 to
1949 Bob is a farmer of Upper River Proserpine. 1925 wife Maggie is listed at
Myrtle Park Proserpine. 1959 and 1963 Bob is Licensee of the Stratford Hotel
Cairns along with Phyllis Merle Barry (nee Martin) They married in the 1960's
1968 to 1977 retired and living at Airlie Beach. Bob died on 22 September
1977 and is buried in the Proserpine Cemetery
