Private Clifford William Hais (Service No:Q265526) served in the ACMF from 8 May 1942 to 27 February 1946 (graded Driver Mechanic) with 33 Infantry Training Battalion and HQ Training Centre Canungra (Jungle Warfare).
Cliff was born in Brisbane QLD in 1910, eldest of two children of William Clifford Elias Hais (b1888 in Brisbane, QLD) and his first wife Rose Anna Griffiths (b1889 in Brisbane, QLD). William (a Printer's Machinist) and Rose Anna married in 1910 in Brisbane, where they settled and raised their family and William was a Printer. Following Rose Anna's death in 1916, William remarried to Edith Annie Hughes (b1891 in Wiltshire, England) - Edith immigrated in 1914 on board the Benalla. William and Edith settled in Brisbane, whee they raised their family and William worked as a Printer and Labourer.
Cliff worked as a Milk Vendor, and was a a Taxi Driver in Brisbane in 1940 when he married Eileen Amelia Brook (b1915 in Brisbane, QLD). Cliff and Eileen settled in Brisbane, where Cliff worked as a Taxi Driver, Eileen died in 1978 and Cliff in 1982.
