Les was the eldest child of Annie Halls (b1883 in Sherwood, QLD) - in 1910 Annie married Samuel Boyd and moved to NSW before returning to QLD in 1915.
Les was a Labourer and Textile Fettler in Ipswich, QLD where he married Violet (Violy) Hannah Molloy (b1909 in Ipswich, QLD) in 1929. Les and Violy settled in Ipswich, where their son Desmond (Des) Leslie was born. In 1942 Les enlisted with the ACMF (Private; Service No:Q227656). He was attached to Volunteer Defence Corps (QLD) when he was Discharged in 1944.
Les and Violy remained in Ipswich, QLD where Les worked as a Labourer. He died in 1984 and Viloy in 1990.
