Private Dorothy Mabel Hanley (Service No:QF266016) served in the AWAS with 10 Australian AA Operations Room (Gun Operations Room Brisbane) - graded Plotter - from 2 November 1942 to 8 May 1945. Three brothers - William, Sydney and Douglas - and husband Alan also served in WWII.

Dorothy (Pat) Mabel Hall was born in Toogoolawah, QLD in 1919, fourth of eight children of William (Willie) Hall (b1888 in Bryden, QLD) and Gladys Smith (b1888 in Esk, QLD). Willie (a Labourer) and Gladys married in 1912 in Esk, QLD and by 1916 Willie had joined QGR as a Railways Worker. Willie and Gladys lived in Esk, Toogoolawah and Yimbun via Esk before settling in Kilcoy.

Pat worked in Kilcoy as a Nursemaid before enlisting in the AWAS. In 1944 in Brisbane, Pat married Alan Noel Hanley (b1917 in Casterton, Victoria) - Alan was a Signalman (Service No:VX131756). Following Discharge in 1946, Pat and Alan settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and Alan was an Artist. Pat died in 2006 and Alan in 2010.
