Private Stanley Clifford Head (Service No:Q123096) enlisted in the ACMF on 16 December 1941 and was attached to 28 Australian Infantry Training Battalion. Private Head transferred to 5 Australian Division Provost Coy on 18 July 1942 and was Discharged on 15 November 1945.
Born in 1914 in Laidley on the Darling Downs QLD, Stan was the seventh child of Henry Octavius Head (b1870 in Ipswich, QLD) and Edith Sophia Maud Marsh (b1876 in Gatton, QLD. Edith had a son when she and Henry (a Farmer) married in Laidley QLD in 1898 in Laidley, QLD where they settled at Blenheim and raised their family - nine children including Edith's first born son. The family moved to Cooran QLD in the mid 1920s.
Stan worked as a Labourer in Cooran, QLD and in 1936 married Mary Edna Maher (b1913 in Mt Morgan, QLD) - Mary was a Dressmaker. Stan and Mary settled in Cooran, and Stan was unemployed in 1941 when he enlisted in the ACMF. By 1949 Stan and Mary had separated - Stan was a Wood Worker in Brisbane and Mary a Cook in Pomona QLD. Stan moved to Newcastle the next year where he was a Steel/Foundry Worker. In 1965 he remarried to Edith Marjorie (a Process Worker). Stan died in 1987.
