As a result of a fall sustained at the Victoria Bridge Hotel early on Friday evening, Stephen James Head, aged 45, died in the General Hospital at 4.20 on Saturday morning. At 6.20 p.m. on Friday fhe Ambulance received a call to the hotel, where the man was found to be seriously injured suffering from a fractured skull, haemorrhage from the nose and other injuries He was rushed to the General Hospital where he passed away 10 hours later. A post mortem was held on Saturday morning and it is believed that there were no suspicious circumstances connected with the man's death. Head had worked at the meatworks but since the close has been fishing. He was born in the Bundaberg district, and served in World War II. He is survived by three sisters end three brothers, resident in the south.
