Biography

1983 Private (Pte) Joseph Bottrall, 32nd Battalion, of Port Pirie, SA. Pte Bottrall worked as an engine driver prior to enlisting on 7 October 1915. (Ed Note - perhaps employed by BHP asa he is not listed on the SA Railways Memorial). He embarked for service overseas aboard HMAT Miltiades (A28) on 7 February 1916. Pte Bottrall was killed in action at Fleurbaix, France, on 19 July 1916, aged 35.
