Corporal Percival George Heymer (Service Nos:QX4496/Q164825) initially served in the AIF as a Private attached to 2/12 Infantry Battalion (6 November 1939 - 18 March 1940) - Discharged Medically Unfit. He then enlisted in the ACMF on 1 April 1940, and was attached to Northern Command Canteen Service in Rabaul (14 March 1941 - 30 May 1941). Corporal Heymer was attached to Northern Command Canteen Service at Discharge on 27 June 1941.

Perc was born at Tannymorel via Killarney QLD in 1897, third of eight children of George Heymer (b1867 in Essex, England) and Emma Peachey (b1868 in Tenterfield, New South Wales). George was a General Servant in England before immigrating, and in 1893 he and Emma married in Tannymorel. In 1898 they settled in Wynnum in Brisbane, where they raised their family and George was a Postman and ran Heymer's Corner Store and Newsagency. George served as a Justice of the Peace and as Councillor for the Shire of Wynnum - he was renowned for his luck with winning Golden Casket lottery tickets.

Perc was working as a Shop Assistant in Wynnum in 1923 when he married his first wife Edith Jessie Dunbar (b1901 in Brisbane, QLD). Perc and Edith settled in Wynnum, where they raised their family and Perc worked as a Storeman and Truck Driver. The couple separated in 1939 and divorced in 1942, both later remarrying. Perc remarried in 1943 to Edith Mary Hais (b1919 in Brisbane, QLD) - Edith was a Nurse in Brisbane. Perc and Edith settled in Brisbane (Wynnum and Manly) where they raised their family and Perc worked as a Storeman and Packer until his death in 1962. Edith died in 1986.
