Private Victor George Hillier (Service No:Q265599) served in the ACMF (General Details Depot) from 21 July 1942 to 14 January 1943.
Born in 1902 in Brisbane QLD, Victor was the second of six children of William Hillier (b1865 at Humpy Bong in Moreton Bay Region, QLD) and Sarah Ann Johnston (b1875 in County Cavan, Ireland). William (a Labourer) and Sarah married in 1898 in Brisbane, QLD where they settled and raised their family and William was a Labourer.
Victor was working as a Labourer in Brisbane in 1928 when he married Sylvia Law (b1902 in Clarence, NSW) and served in the Cadets and Militia before enlisting in the ACMF in 1942 - he was working as a Barman/Steward in Brisbane. Following Sylvia's death in 1943, Victor worked as a Labourer in Corinda, Brisbane before moving to Geelong, Victoria in the early 1950s where he worked as a Barman. Victor returned to Brisbane intermittently, and died in Geelong in 1986.
