Morris Percival Howard

Morris was the 2nd of 4 children of Edwin Howard and Mary Magdalena Jehn of Ipswich QLD. Brother Roy served with 5 Australian Ordinance Sea Craft Platoon as a Sergeant (Service No: Q119419) in WWII.
Morris was a Telegraphist in Ipswich QLD when he enlisted in the Australian Army with 24 Australian Lines Of Communication Signals; Signalman (Service No: Q119940). he served from 8 December 1941 to 15 March 1948.

Morris returned to live in Ipswich QLD following his Discharge, and worked as a Labourer. In 1963 he moved to Surfer's Paradise on the Gold Coast, QLD and was a Hotellier, and in 1968 he moved to Southport, QLD where he worked as a Gardener until his death in 1984

Morris was the second of four children of Edwin Howard (born 1870 at Harrisville near Ipswich QLD) and Mary Magdalena Jehn (born 1872 in Germany). Edwin - a Blacksmith's Striker - and Mary married 1n 1893 at Harrisville near Ipswich. They moved to Bundamba and then Ipswich where Edwin worked as a Blacksmith's Striker until the 1920s when he worked as a Bush Hand.

Morris was a Telegraph Operator/Telegraphist in Ipswich QLD when he enlisted in the Army in 1941. He served as a Signalman (Service No:Q119940) with 24 Lines of Communication Signals and was Discharged in March 1948. Younger brother Roy Edwin (Service No:Q119419) served as a Sergeant with 5 Australian Ordinance Sea Craft Platoon in WWII.

Morris returned to Ipswich and worked as a Labourer until he moved to the Gold Coast in 1960. Morris was a Hotelier at Surfer's Paradise, and then worked as a Gardener at Labrador on the Gold Coast when he retired in 1968. Morris died in 1972.
