Born in 1914 in Brisbae QLD, Ron was the seventh of eight children of John Ireland (b1877 in Strathpine, QLD) and Leah Green (b1880 in Brisbane, QLD). John (a Contractor) and Leah married in 1899 in Brisbane, QLD and lived in Brisbane, Strathpine and South Pine where John was a Contractor, Farmer and Concrete Worker.
Ron was working as a Labourer in Brisbane in 1934 when he married Valmai Margaret Schofiled (b1914 in Brisbane, QLD). Ron and Valmai settled in Brisbane where Ron served briefly in the RAAF in 1933 (Service No:411300) and worked as an Assembler and Clerk. Valmai died in 1964 and Ron in 1990.
