OBITUARY
Rev. D. M. Deasey
Rev. D. M. Deasey, who two months' ago was appointed resident chaplain at Heidelberg Military Hospital, died in a train when returning to the Institution after spending Thursday in Geelong. He was appointed vicar to Christ Church,. Geelong in 1932, and during his occupancy of the office he identified himself with many movements. He was also associated with Geelong in his younger days, and played football with the Geelong League team, being one of the outstanding players. He always took a lively interest in the affairs of the club. He was a member of the committee of the Geelong Hospital, and during the last war he served as a chaplain, and displayed keen interest in the welfare of the returned soldier. He was also founder of the League of Soldiers' Friends. Rev. Mr. Deasey was educated at Melbourne Grammar School, Geelong Grammar School and Trinity College. He Is survived by his widow and three daughters (Mrs. Guy Bakewell), Major Kathleen Deasey, A.W.A.S., Mrs. G.Bringle and three sons, Randle, Desmond and Denison, all in the A.I.F. The funeral will take place privately under arrangements made by Le Pine and Son.
