Private John Edward James Jackson (Service No:Q212843) enlisted in the ACMF on 13 April 1942 and served with 13 Battalion VDC and 38 Heavy AA Battery. Private Jackson was Discharged (essential industry) on 22 December 1944.

Born in 1904 in Mackay QLD, Jack was the eldest of three children of John Jackson (b1880 in Gympie, QLD) and Rose Amy Louisa Webb (b1885 in Rockhampton, QLD). John (a Carrier in Mt Morgan, QLD) and Rose married in 1903 in Rockhampton, QLD. The couple lived at Mt Morgan before Rose settled in Rockhampton - they separated and Rose remarried in 1917. John remained in Mt Morgan where he worked as a Carrier, Teamster and Labourer.

Jack worked as a Farm Hand in Yeppoon, QLD and in 1936 married Caroline Beatrice Heath (b1904 at Natimuk, Victoria) - Caroline was also living in Yeppoon. Jack and Caroline settled in Yeppoon where Jack worked as a Labourer. Caroline died in 1987 and Jack in 1991.
