Private Sybil Jackson (Service No:Q142487) enlisted in the AWAS as Sybil Bolck on 9 January 1942 and was attached to AWAS Barrack at Discharge on 29 August 1944.

Sybil - born in 1908 in Rockhampton QLD - was the second of four children of Johann (John Henry) Heinrich Bolck (b1870 in Kisdorf, Germany) and Ethel Daphne Phillips (b1880 in London, England). John immigrated with his parents as Assisted Immigrants in 1871, arriving in Port Keppel, QLD on board the Lammershagen, and Ethel immigrated with her widowed mother in the mid 1880s, settling in Brisbane, QLD where her mother soon remarried. John (a Labourer) and Ethel (a Book Binder) married in 1903 in Rockhampton, QLD and lived at Bajool where John was a Ganger before settling in Yeppoon where John worked as a Labourer.

Sybil worked as a Wardsmaid before enlisting in the AWAS, and in 1944 married Thomas (Tom) Henry Jackson (b1907 in Mackay, QLD) - Tom was serving in the RAN. Sybil and Tom settled in Yeppoon where Tom was a Council Worker - Tom died in 1978 and Sybil in 1993.
