Son of Robert Osmand and Mary Brown Osmand nee Boyd of Lavington via Albury, NSW.
Brother of Sydney Alexander Osmand who returned to Australia on 31 March 1919 having served with the 55th Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 2 January 1919 aboard HT Berrima disembarking on 17 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney by boat.
