The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 100 + 272. Prior to the war he was a mechanic of Elsternwick Vic. He enlisted 17th Aug 1914 aged 25 years. He served with the 5th Infantry Battalion rising to the rank of Sergeant and was awarded a Distinguished Conduct Medal for his service. He survived the war and departed the UK for home 24th Sep 1918.
