Noel was the eldest child of Joseph Patrick King (b1884 in Galway, Ireland) and Lilian Kathleen Hilston (b1895). Joseph (a Railways Labourer) and Lilian married in Cairns, QLD in 1913 where they raised their family. Joseph worked as a Railways Maintenance Inspector.
Noel was a Labourer in Warwick, QLD when he enlisted in the ACMF in October 1941. He served as a Private (Service No:Q103089) with 2 PoW Guard Coy and was attached to 14 Garrison Battalion when he was Discharged in November 1944. In November 1942 Noel married Winifred Pearl Bradford (b1920 in Tannymorel, QLD) - Winifred was serving with the Australian Women's Army Service (Private; Service No:Q142155) as an Ambulance Driver.
Noel and Winifred separated and were Divorced in the early 1950s. Noel worked with QLD Rail as a Labourer and Train Examiner, living in Goondiwindi, Warwick, Mt Isa, Brisbane and Townsville. He died in 1966.
