Arthur was the eldest of three children of Johan (John) Kluck (born 1887 at Tarampa, Ipswich, QLD) and Ellen Steele (born 1874 in Ipswich, QLD). John - a Farmer at North Mondure in Wondai, QLD was 21 years of age when he married Ellen - a thirty four year old Widow - in 1908. Ellen had five children from her first marriage to Xavier Franz Schekoski (1870 - 1906). John and Ellen lived at Kingaroy, Wondai, Kilkivan, Murgon and Maryborough where John was a Farmer until Ellen's death in 1928. John then moved to Goomerai where he worked as a Teamster before moving to Hastings in NSW and working for the Electricity Board. John was almost 102 years of age when he died.

Arthur was a Farmer at Nikenba in Howard, Wide Bay, QLD in 1937 when he married Florence Maud Giles (born 1914 at Roma, QLD) in Pialba. Arthur and Florence were living at Nikenba, Wide Bay, QLD and Arthur was a Farmer, when he enlisted in the Army in December 1941. Arthur was a Private (ServiceNo:QX2491) attached to 4th Field Ambulance when he was discharged in December 1945. Older halh-brother William Valentine Steele (Private, Service No:3917A) was KiA at the Somme in April 1917, and younger brother Walter George Kluck (Private, Service No:Q250046) served in WWII.

Arthur worked as a Labourer in Maryborough, Bundaberg and Fairymead before retiring briefly to  Nundah in Brisbane in 1977. He died in Wondai in 1987 and Florence died at Hervey Bay, QLD in 2007.
