Walter (Wally) was the tenth of thirteen children of Gottfreid Otto Gustav Kriedemann (born 1871 at Elkana in QLD) and Helene Louisa Maria Christoffel (born 1876 in Germany). Gottfried was a Farmer at Alberton in Beenleigh, QLD in 1896 when he married Helene. Gottfried and Helene settled in the Beenleigh Region and raised their children. Gottfried was a Farmer.

Wally, a Labourer at Upper Coomera in Beenleigh, QLD enlisted in the AMF in May 1942. He was a Private (Service No:204130) with B Coy 5th Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps (QLD) and was Discharged in April 1944.

Walter returned to Beenleigh and was a Labourer near Yatala, Beenleigh, QLD in 1952 when he married Frances Eileen Crane (born 1933 in Brisbane, QLD). Wally and Frances lived at Beenleigh, QLD where Wally was a Labourer. He died in 2008 and Frances in 2011.
