Son of Douglas and Nellie HOPTON, 39 Flood Street, Leichhardt, NSW

Charles served in Egypt and France and was wounded at Pozieres on 23 July 1916 and invalided to Grovelands Hosptial, Southgate, England.  he returned to duty.  He had enlisted a fortnight before his 17th birthday.
