David was the youngest of six children of David Lamond (b1864 in Scotland) and Euphemia Hardie (b1869 in Scotland). David Snr (a Cotton Dyer) immigrated in 1888, arriving in Brisbane, QLD on board the Duke of Sutherland. Euphemia arrived at Peel Island on board the Taroba in January 1889 and she and David Snr married that year in Brisbane QLD. They settled in Brisbane where David Snr worked as a Carter and Gardener.
David worked as a Cook and Labourer, and enlisted in the ACMF in February 1942. He was a Private (Service No:Q122938) attached to 20 Works Coy when he was Discharged in February 1946.
David lived in Brisbane and worked as a Labourer until his death in 1965.
