Dear Sir, My brother Herbert Francis Lee, then farming sugar in Strathdickie North, a district of Proserpine, was called up on 17 Feb, 1942 during the Coral Sea Emergency as a landing was expected on the coast, just north of Townsville, after the Coral Sea back to the farm to harvest crop and later discharged. His discharge has been lost and now with next birthday 20 February 2002 being 88 he cannot remember his army number. He was in a platoon Commanded by Lieutenant Henry Allan and the C Company Com was Capt Love. They camped first in the Townsville Showgrounds then were in defensive positions around Castle Hill and beaches with the 31st Battalion, I was further north in 26 Batt. Yours Sincerely Reg Lee
