Son of Thomas Hugh Ord and Charlotte Ann Ord nee Wayman of Norong Road, Caulfield, Victoria formerly of Hamilton and Stawell, Victoria.

During 1910 Thomas played football with the Hamilton and St. George's Football team he also played with the past players of the Hamilton College Football team.
