Personal Stories
Wedding Day
In Jan 1946 on her wedding day, her husband to be, Tom was working on a tank's engine injectors when someone turned the engine over and the injection flew out and smashed his jaw. He was taken to hospital. Wilma was waiting at the church with all the guests when an army motorcycle courier turned up with the news. Wilma, in her wedding dress, rode side saddle to the hospital. They married several weeks later, once he could talk again.
