Private Robert Augustus Lobley

Robert Augustus Lobley (8 October 1908 • Goodna, Brisbane, QLD - 4 November 1982 • Ipswich, QLD) was a Builder's Labourer, 33 years 4 months of age when he enlisted in the Australian Army (ACMF) on 9 February 1942 in Ipswich, QLD.
Robert served initially with the 2 Australian Returned Stores Depot as a Private and on 2 August 1944 was transferred to 13 Australian Advanced Ordinance Depot (Service No: Q144380)
Robert was Discharged on 19 December 1945

Robert was the seventh of eleven children of William Henry Lobley (born 1874 at Goodna, QLD) and Clara Augusta Adsett (born 1874 at Goodna, QLD). William (a Warder) and Clara married in 1896 in Ipswich, QLD and raised their family in Goodna, QLD.

Robert had been a Farmer at Haigslea in Marburg QLD and in 1937 married Constance Jean Mole (born 1912 in Ipswich, QLD). Constance (a Machinist) and Robert (a Labourer) were living in North Ipswich when Robert enlisted in the CMF in February 1942. He served as a Private (Service No:Q1443880) and was attached to 2 Returned Stores Depot when he was Discharged in December 1945. Brother Harold Henry Lobley (Private, Service No:Q205439) also served with the CMF in WWII.

Robert and Constance lived in North Ipswich QLD, where Robert worked as a Labourer. He died in 1982 and Constance in 1984.
