Injured in Egypt
Hector was in a vehicle crash in Egypt resulting in him being admitted to 1st Aust Conv Depot on 30 May 1942. He was initially admitted to 13 B.G.H on 12 March 1942 suffering from head injuries causing unconsciousness and multiple abrasions. on 23 March 1942 he developed a swelling on the left parietal region which was shown to be a subarachnoid haemorrhage. On 3 May 1942 he still had persistent headache and double vision.
