Private James Walker Maudsley (Service Nos:QX36159/Q6279) initially enlisted in the ACMF before enlisting in the AIF in November 1941. He was attached to 5 Australian Motor Regiment when he was Discharged in January 1945. 

Born in 1923 in Murgon QLD, Jim was the eldest of six children of Alan Walker Maudsley (b1892 in Wolston, Ipswich, QLD) and Catherine Barbara Maggie Cobb (b1895 in Bundaberg, QLD). Alan (a Labourer) and Catherine married in 1921 in Murgon QLD and settled at Undaban in Goomeri QLD where Alan was a Labourer and Farmer. Alan had served in WWI (Private; Service No:1837).

Jim worked as a Labourer at Undaban, Goomeri QLD, where he returned following his Discharge in 1945. By the early 1950s Jim had settled in Jandowae near Dalby QLD where he was a Farmer for ten years. In the early 1960s he started working as a Shop Assistant in Jandowae. Jim died in 1997.
