Dearest Granddad,
Now as an adult, your son, Ron, who is your only remaining child and I, your granddaughter understand the mental turmoil you suffered from your War Service. We pray that you have found peace. I was today years old when I found out you went back to War II. Is this where you went, when Ron said you left the family? Poor granddad. Like a recidivist, you went back to a world that in some way made you feel valued. I wish I had known you. With love Val xxx
