Lancelot Lewin MARSHALL was born in Deloraine, Tasmania on 21st February, 1897

His parents were Richard MARSHALL and Julia Harriet DOWNES

He had previously served in the 91st Infantry, A Company before he enlisted for WW1 on 23rd February, 1916 & embarked from Melbourne with the 13th Field Artillery Brigade, 4th reinforcements on 1st August, 1916 on the ship HMAT Orsova

Lancelot was Killed in Action in France on 21st August, 1917 and is buried in Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial
