Beris/Berice was the third of five children of William Robert Millican (b1889 in Toowoomba, QLD) and Hannah Bella Say (b1895 in Umbiram nr Toowoomba, QLD). William (a Labourer) and Hannah married in 1915 in Toowoomba, QLD. The family lived in Miles, Crows Nest, Chinchilla, Longreach and Toowoomba in QLD where William worked as a Labourer.
Beris was a Home Help/Companion in Brisbane in June 1943 when she enlisted in the Australian Women's Army Service (Private; Service No:QF271583). She was attached to 7 Canteen Services (AACS) Officers' Club when she was Discharged in November 1945.
In 1947 Beris married Colin Albert Boatwright (b1917 in Ipswich, QLD). Colin (a Shop Assistant) also served in WWII (Private; Service No:Q143814). Beris and Colin settled in Ipswich, QLD where Colin worked as a Shop Assistant. He died in 1994 and Beris in 2002.
