The man who fell off the Harbour Bridge
Vinnie (or Vin) is reasonably famous in Sydney as "the guy who fell off the bridge".
While he was working on the bridge decking as a riveter, he slipped and fell 55m to the water below. As an experienced diver and swimmer, he was able to right himself and landed upright in the water, surfacing and swimming away. He spent about a week in hospital before returning to work.
