Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Charles was the eldest of nine children of Peter James Mole (born 1877 at South Pine River, Petrie, QLD) and Edith May Bradfield (born 1882 in Ipswich, QLD). Peter was a Labourer in Ipswich, QLD in 1901 when he married Edith. They settled at Perrett's Hill in Bundanba where they raised their family and Peter was a Blacksmith.

Charles worked from a young age as a Coal Miner, and in 1925 married Mary Lillian Joynson (born 1906 in Lancashire, England). Charles and Mary settled in Bundanba and Charles was a Miner when he enlisted in the ACMF in August 1943. He served as a Private (Q227456) with 9 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps and was Discharged in October 1945. Brothers-in-Law - John Alexander Easton (RAAF, Sapper, LAC, Service No:76564), Robert Augustus Lobley (Private, Service No:Q144380), and James Robert Clarkson (Sapper, Service No:Q13792) also served in WWII.

Charles returned to Bundnaba where he worked as Miner until retirement when he and Edith moved to Noosaville on the Sunshine Coast. Following Edith's death in 1968, Charles married Eva Sarah Carter (nee Stevens, born 1915 at Nerang, QLD) in 1974. Charles died at Caloundra in 1994 and Eva died in 2006.
