The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 150 + 268. Prior to the war he was a civil engineer of Nelson New Zealand. He enlisted 20th Aug 1914 aged 24 years. He served with the 1st Infantry Battalion, rising through the ranks to the rank of Lieutenant. During his service as a Lieutenant he was awarded the Military Cross MC. He survived the war, departing the UK for Aust 17th Jan 1919.
